This Hunter Collector Privacy Policy is effective on the date set out at the end for current users, and upon acceptance for new users.

Protecting your privacy is very important to us. We want you to understand fully our privacy practices and we, therefore, have established the Hunter Collector Privacy Policy.

As part of the normal Hunter Collector Services, your information is collected by us and may be disclosed to, and used by, third parties. The Privacy Policy describes the information we collect about you and what may happen to that information.

This Privacy Policy outlines your rights regarding our collection, use, storage, sharing and protection of your personal information.  It also applies to the Hunter Collector applications, services and tools where this Policy is referenced regardless of how you access or use them or the device you use.

Scope of, and Consent to, our Privacy Policy

By using Hunter and the Hunter Collector Site, applications, services and tools, and/or registering for a Hunter Collection member’s account you are agreeing to our collection, use and retention for our own purposes, and disclosure, of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and in our User Agreement.

The reference to “personal information” in this Policy is used to describe information that can be associated with a specific person and could be used to identify that person.

Collection of your personal information by Hunter Collector®

Before you sign up as a Hunter Collector member you are able to navigate through our site without being required to provide any personal information about yourself, however you are required to provide such information when registering for an account.

Information we collect automatically once you open an account includes:

  • Your personal Information received by us from your computer and other devices including mobile devices.
  • All relevant information provided by you to open a Hunter Collector account including email address, phone number, home address, etc.
  • When you visit our site we can record traffic to and from our site, referral URL, ad data, IP address, etc.
  • We store any information you may enter on our site or you provide to us in the context of using our site, applications, services or tools including transactional information based on your activities on the site such as bidding, buying and selling, and shipping, billing and other information you provide to purchase or ship an item, etc.
  • Information provided through our “Collector Forum” facility and any additional personal information we ask you to submit to authenticate yourself.

Disclosure by Hunter Collector® of your personal information to others

From time to time we may disclose personal information for the following reasons:

  • For the protection of Hunter Collector and Others: We may release personal and business information when we believe in good faith that such release is necessary to comply with law; enforce or apply our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and other agreements; or protect the rights, property or safety of Hunter Collector, our employees, our users or others. This includes, without limitation, exchanging information with government and law enforcement agencies and other companies and organisations for fraud protection and allied purposes.
  • Agents: We may employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and may need to share your information with them to provide products or services to you. Examples include sending emails, analysing data and providing user services. Without your permission, Hunter Collector’s agents will not have any right to use personal information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us.
  • To enable a Hunter Collector purchase or sale transaction to be completed.
  • To credit card merchants.
  • With Your Consent: Except as set forth above, or as required by any applicable laws to which Hunter Collector may be subject, you will be notified when your personal identifiable individual information may be shared to third parties, and will be given the option to prevent the sharing of this information.

Hunter Collector does not control the privacy policies of third parties involved in transactions conducted via the Hunter Collector Site.

Whilst we offer a login option that allows you to use third party login credentials to access our site such as Facebook and Twitter we do not collate information from this media , nor do we access it and  do not take responsibility for any content transferred by you from your account to a third party / parties.

We suggest you ask questions before you disclose your private information to other parties.  It is our aim to provide a safe and rewarding environment for buyers and sellers.

Payments Transactions

With respect to payment transactions you may enter into on the Hunter Collector Site, we do not store or retain any PIN data (ie personal identification numbers), AVS data (ie address verification data) or Card Validation Codes (ie the three (3) or four (4) digit codes on backs of credit cards). We do not store or retain magnetic stripe information or hard copies containing cardholder data after a payment transaction has been authorised. I making payment transactions on the Hunter Collector Site, you agree to abide by PayPal’s applicable terms of service and policies.

Use of your personal information by Hunter Collector®

By opening a Hunter Collector account you agree that we may use your personal information to:

  • Provide you with access to our site, its applications and tools and to be able to provide you with member service when you might need it.
  • Provide you with member support if required, including service updates.
  • Provide you with information regarding other applications, products, services and tools and deliver targeted marketing and promotional offers based on your communication preferences.
  • Enable us to prevent, detect, and investigate possible fraud and security breaches and to enforce our User Agreement if necessary.
  • Contact you, either via email or telephone to resolve disputes and problems with your account or another member and / or verify certain information with a third party, collect fees and troubleshoot problems.

Information you share on the Hunter Collector® Site.

When you register and become a Hunter Collector member you are identified by your user ID reference and as a result other members can see your trading activity and feedback history.  By communicating via “Collector Forum” and “Want List” you may be sharing some personal information with other members.

Also be mindful of using another person’s or office computer or a shared computer at an airport or at an internet café as your personal information may be accessible to others who use the computer after you.

Using Hunter Collector® information

When you buy or sell items via the Hunter Collector Site, you are sharing your personal and financial information to complete transactions like user ID, email address, etc.

To help protect your privacy, we allow only limited access to other users’ contact, shipping and financial information to facilitate your transactions and collect payments.

When dealing with other members you should make every endeavour to satisfy yourself as to the integrity of that member.  You should check their feedback, their return policies, etc.

You agree to use your user information for buying and selling purposes only using the services offered by our site and not for unsolicited commercial messages or other purposes.

The storage of your personal Information

We store and process your personal information on our computers in Australia.

We protect your information using technical and administrative security measures to reduce the risks of loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure and alteration. Some of the safeguards we use are firewalls and data encryption, physical access controls to our data centres, and information access authorisation controls.

We take steps to ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate and up to date, and we provide you with the opportunity to update your information through your account profile settings.

We retain information as long as it is necessary and relevant for our operations. In addition, we may retain personal information from closed accounts to comply with applicable law to which we may be subject or to prevent fraud, resolve outstanding disputes, assist with any investigation, or to enforce our User Agreement and take other actions permitted by law.

Your Personal Information

Your password is your security to your Hunter Collector account.    Please do not disclose your password to anyone. If you do you are responsible for all actions taken in the name of your account because if others use your account or you lose control of your account you may be subject to legal action taken against you.

If your password has been hacked into you must notify Hunter Collector and change your password.

We cannot and will not change your personal information for you.  You must do this yourself.

If for any reason you wish to close we your account we will remove your personal information from the site as soon as possible. However, as indicated above, we do retain your personal information in case we need to cooperate with government authorities and to comply with applicable law to which we may be subject or to prevent fraud, resolve outstanding disputes, assist with any investigation, or to enforce our User Agreement and take other actions permitted by law, if necessary.

How We Use Cookies

When you access our websites we may place small data files on your computer or other device.

We use these data files or “Cookies” to help us identify you as a member and for no other reasons.

Certain “Cookies” will expire when you log out of your account whilst others will remain until you erase them or they expire.

We encode and protect our Cookies so that only we can interpret the information stored in them.


Hunter Collector and its members will not tolerate spam.       You may not use Hunter Collection contact options to send spam that would violate our User Agreement. Doing so may result in the suspension of your account.

Sales and Marketing

We are not associated with any advertising agencies or marketing companies and do not / will not pass your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes under any circumstances.
